  • A historic site close to Llanymynech village centre, formerly the working area for the Llanymynech Rocks limestone quarries. Good quality footpaths lead you to an impressive Hoffman limekiln and chimney, woodland, pastures and the Montgomery Canal.

An excellent spot to start to understand some of the history that has created the landscape you see and walk through. It is part of a wider area, including two wildlife trust reserves which give an insight into the lime industry. If you are local there are volunteering and citizen science projects running here. See  LLIMEYS

Neighbouring are Shropshire Wildlife Trust and Montgomery Wildlife Trust reserves which can be accessed from the area by good paths and take you up hill and under the huge limestone cliffs.

It is also adjacent to the small holding run by Nearly Wild Exploration's founders, where they host occasional courses and activities.
